Holiday Cards 2016

At Reich Paper it’s our favorite time of year.  We honestly love sending holiday cards to all of our friends and customers. Of course choosing the paper and envelopes is the first step yet working with designers and printers and getting all of our staff involved in the project makes it something we really get excited about.

Here is a glimpse of our process (both thought process and physical process) as we get our holiday cards made for this year. 1 - Our intent is always simple - we want to say we are thinking of you.  Cards are an easy way to say hi, thanks for all you do and you mean a lot to us.  This year we decided to use SAVOY to help get the sentiment across. Luxurious and elegant, SAVOY, tree-free 100% pure cotton paper blends old world elegance with new world sophistication making it a perfect choice for greeting cards.  In addition, SAVOY folds crisp and clean which is hard to find in other cotton heavy weight papers.

2 -We view cards as gifts.  Funny, serious, simple or complex, we love greeting cards and proudly display them around the office, on our inspiration boards, on our art wall and even on the office fridge.  We love spending time working on a beautiful design and sentiment that others will enjoy receiving as much as we enjoy sending.  Digital cards just can’t compete!

3 -We work with so many talented designers and printers and are excited to collaborate with Scott Biersack (another Brooklynite) and the amazing team at Mama’s Sauce on this year’s card.  Although  SAVOY was originally designed for letterpress, we decided to go with foil stamping for a fun on trend pop of metallic to ring in the New Year.

4 -We want to keep in touch with you.  Although we travel for work a lot, there is just not enough time to get to visit with all of our amazing customers.  We see our card as a way to say hello to those that mean so much to us and it helps us connect with everyone.

5 -We like the ritual of cards.  As small family operation here in Brooklyn, NY for almost 60 years certain traditions are important and part of what makes us successful.  Honesty, integrity, and striving for excellence along with hard work and dedication are some of the most important traditions we continue to uphold. Finding the newest exciting papers from all over the world is another.  And sending holiday cards? It’s an annual event that we truly enjoy.
